Three straight wins to open the year have now been followed up by back-to-back losses by the Temple High School football team.

The Tigers went on the road for a rare Thursday night game this week and were handed a 34-6 loss to Callaway at Callaway Stadium in LaGrange in their Region 5-AA opener.

The defeat comes on the heels of a 31-7 loss to Northwest Whitfield at Rogers Stadium on Sept. 20. After going 1-9 last year, Temple fired out of the gates with three straight victories over Putnam County, Kendrick and Mount Zion.

Temple will try to avoid falling to .500 on the year next Friday night when they host region adversary Jordan at 7:30 p.m.
