A Carrollton High School senior and linebacker has committed to playing for the University of Georgia during the 2021 football season.
Chaz Chambliss made his decision on Tuesday morning, bringing the UGA class count to eight, according to the Dawg Nation website.
The future Bulldogs linebacker posted a video on Twitter with a clip showing him working out in a weight room. He then put on a black UGA hat to announce his commitment.
The Dawg Nation website reported that the four-star prospect was a strong-side defensive end during his junior season for the Trojans. He was credited for 25.5 tackles for losses and 15 sacks in 2019.
He is ranked as the nation’s No. 18 offensive linebacker and No. 255 overall prospect on the 247Sports Composite, according to Dawg Nation.
At 243 pounds, Chambliss is the second offensive linebacker prospect picked up by UGA for the 2020-21 season. He is also the program’s seventh in-state recruit.
