OMA wins AA Championship

The OMA volleyball team ended their championship drought on Oct. 10 by winning the GISA AA Volleyball championship. The Warriors have made the state title game in the last two seasons, only to finish as runner up each time. But not this year. The Warriors earned the number 1 seed for the tournament with a 23-3 record on the season and beat The Gatewood school in the semi-finals 25-11,25-9,25-17. The Warriors moved on to play Augusta prep for the championship. The Warriors won the championship in 4 sets 25-19, 25-19, 24-26, 25-11. Their coach, Britney Mount, said “I saw a lot of growth from these girls this season. They overcame a lot of setbacks but were able to push through and finish on top with a perfect region and state record.”
