The Holy Ground Baptist Academy girls' basketball team is back in the state semifinals of the GICAA Division II Class A state playoffs.
The Lady Stallions (12-4) defeated Cherokee Christian in the quarterfinals behind a 17-point effort from Emily Yancey, while Alex Yarnall added 13 points. HG will face Colonial Hills Christian School (19-8) on Thursday at Truett McConnell University in a 6 p.m. contest.
"Thursday's game should be a good one. Both teams are playing well and I really feel good about our chances. I'm so proud of our ladies and the effort they have put forth," HG head coach Stephany Yarnall said.

Oak Mountain Academy girls 59, Bethlehem Temple 33: The Lady Warriors won the opening round of the Region 1-AA Tournament on Tuesday night at Flint River, getting 14 points from Bess Murrah, while Sydney Cartwright added 13.
OMA will face Solid Rock in the semifinal round at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Carrollton boys 3, Starr's Mill 0: The Trojans (2-0) netted all three of their goals in the first half, as Javier Turcios started the scoring 20 minutes into the contest off a Jose Funez assist. Funez added a goal with 10 minutes left in the half, assisted by Cooper Byrd, and Dario Jiminez scored the final goal courtesy of a Turcios assist with eight minutes to go in the half.
The Trojans play host to Norcross on Friday night at 8.
Carrollton JV boys 5, Starr's Mill 0: Damean Dominguez got the scoring started for the Trojans, while Melquin Juarez followed with the next two goals and Eber Sosa and Alex Calix accounted for the final two scores, respectively.
Bowdon 11, Manchester 1 (5 innings): The Red Devils (1-0) won their season opener on Tuesday at W.C. Roop Field, getting a solid four innings of work from Cade Geter on the hill. Geter yielded one earned run on four hits with six strikeouts before giving way to Kyle Franklin, who tossed a shutout inning of relief with one strikeout.
Cason Parmer (2-for-2, 3B, HR) led off the game with a home run to ignite the Red Devil offense, while Noah Langley (2-for-2, 3 RBI) and Leighton Ivey (2-for-3, 2 RBI) also had multiple-hit efforts.
Bowdon plays host to the Red Devils Diamond Day on Saturday, facing Peach County at noon and Central at 5:30 p.m.
Carrollton 11, Shaw 1 (6 innings): The Trojans (2-0) won their home opener against the Raiders, as Jared Soliz tossed five innings to earn the win, allowing one earned run on five hits with six strikeouts.
Offensively, Cole Sauls (2-for-3, HR) and Joe Skinner (2-for-4, 3 RBI) powered Carrollton at the plate.
The Trojans return to action on Saturday, playing North Cobb Christian at 1 p.m. and Northwest Whitfield at 3:30 p.m. at Lakepoint.
