Carrollton police are looking for suspects in an ongoing investigation of a shooting that took place in the city over the weekend.

On Sunday, police responded to a call about an ongoing fight taking place at the Quiktrip convenience store on Bankhead Highway.

When officers arrived, all the parties involved in the altercation had fled. Surveillance footage from the store’s cameras revealed that two men had engaged in a fight and one of the men pulled a gun on the other, according to a police report.

A shot had been fired in the store, but the report said that it is unclear if anyone was wounded. Police later recovered a bullet from the back wall of the store, according to the report.

The shot had been fired by a man identified in the police report as Demarcus Phillips. Police said Jasmine Smith was the other man in the altercation.

After the shot was fired, the alleged shooter fled in a gray Chevrolet Tahoe toward Villa Rica. A BOLO, or “be on the lookout” was issued for the vehicle.

While police had identified those alleged to be involved in the altercation, no arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon.

Charges are pending for Phillips, according to investigators.
