A passion for cycling

Carrollton Lions Club President Sam Sauls (left) with Adam Alvord of West Georgia Cycling, who recently spoke to the club. He shared his passion for cycling with the group. After attending Central High School, he joined the Air Force and became a diesel mechanic. Returning to Carrollton 10 years ago, Alvord started West Georgia Cycling where he sells all types of bicycles, road bikes, mountain bikes, and hybrid bikes for the casual rider. The shop, located at Maple Crossing, maintains a serviceable parts inventory and offers several levels of maintenance as well as accessories. Alford also rents bicycles to those who want to test drive before buying. He brought brochures about the Greenbelt where most of the areas’ 100 or so cycling enthusiasts ride.
