What’s in a nickname?

We’re a week away from the Dogwood Festival and folks from near and far are expected to come to Tallapoosa for the celebration. If my memory serves me correctly, former Mayor Jim Walker was the city’s chief executive when the city officially adopted the “Dogwood City” as the town’s nickname.  Comments (0)

Carroll students win writing contests

The Cultural Arts Division of the Carrollton Parks and Recreation presented the 2014 High School Creative Writing Competition Award Ceremony on March 6, 2014. The contest is an opportunity for students to share their literary talents and be awarded for their efforts. This year there were approximately 800 entries with four Carroll County students receiving recognitions.
