The Editor: I wrote a letter to the editor of the Times-Georgian which was printed in full on Aug. 15, 2010. The letter outlined the problem and tragic consequences sure to occur at the Newnan Road/county complex/WCTC intersections.

The dire prediction of someone being killed there became a reality Saturday, Sept. 25, cutting short the life of a young lady only 18 years old.

Please, I implore those in charge to act immediately to have the speed limit through that area lowered from the present 55 mph to an acceptable lower speed. A phone call, a few hours work, may prevent this from happening again until a permanent solution can be set in place.

I commend Mr. Chappell, Mr. Wilson and Mr. North for their call for immediate action. If the statements Mr. Jackson are quoted as saying are indeed his, I find his attitude deplorable and negligent. His call for fiscal responsibility is not appropriate for the possible consequence that could be attributed to previous inaction. I pray for the family of this young lady!
