Mrs. Mignon Cox Jones, age 80, of Holland Road, Carrollton, Georgia, passed away Friday, August 20, 2010. She was born September 25, 1929, in Heard County, Georgia, the daughter of the late James Awbrey Cox and Winnie Lee Caswell Cox.

Mrs. Jones completed business school and then worked for Ernest Memorial Hospital. She also worked for The Heard County Early Childhood Development Center until her retirement. Mrs. Jones was a former member of Unity Baptist Church and currently was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert James “Bob” Jones.

Survivors include her daughters and their spouses, Susan Caffrey and Melinda Kilgore, both of Carrollton, Luanne and Bryan Owensby of Franklin, and Melody and Ricky Wilson of Forsyth; grandchildren, Sean and Ryan Caffrey, Micah and Katie Kilgore, Matthew Kilgore, Andrew and Amber Owensby, Anna Owensby, and Amber Wilson; one special great-grandson, Caz Kilgore. She is also survived by her “chosen” sister, Mrs. Betty Ann Walls of Roosterville.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 23, 2010, at 11 a.m. from Mars Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Wofford, Rev. Larry Scott, Mr. Andrew Owensby and Mr. Micah Kilgore officiating. Mrs. Jones will be placed in the church from 10:30 a.m. until the funeral hour. Grandsons and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.
