Pam is preceded in death by her brother, Ricky Phillips; grandparents, Leo and Ruth McWhorter and Brad and Vinnie Phillips and her father-in-law, Marion Wright.
Pam graduated from Haralson County High School Class of 1980 and Tift College class of 1984. She was a devoted mother and youth leader of Antioch Baptist Church in Buncombe, worked in admissions at WGC, was a substitute teacher, a bond underwriter for Rucker and Associates and was the Pre School Director at Tallapoosa First Baptist for many years. Her greatest joy was watching their children grow. She loved and never missed a softball or baseball game. She was an amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and best friend who will be missed but not mourned by all who knew her. Pam was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2005 and fought a most courageous and inspiring battle to the very end. Pam’s victory has been won!
In addition to her parents, Pam is survived by her best friend and kindergarten sweetheart, who has been her loving and devoted husband for 26 years, Johnny Wright; their children, Brett and Jenny Wright; her brother, Vince Phillips, all of Waco; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Sandra Wright; mother-in-law, Dean Wright of Leftwich; nieces, Ashley Wright Parrish (Jerry) and Kasie Wright Mims (Adam) and great-nieces and great-nephews, all of Tallapoosa.
Funeral services were held August 9, 2010, at 4 p.m. from Antioch Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Wilburn, Rev. Tommy McGuire and Rev. Jason Hatchett officiating. Fellow deacons serving as pallbearers were Jerry McGuire, Jerry Estes, Tony Robinson, Carlton Johnson, Ralph McGuire, Randy Garrett, Randy Ellis, Barry King and Roy Fuller. Music was provided by Johnny and Jenny Wright, Tara Robinson, Nancy Allen, Harold McWhorter and the Antioch Church Choir under the direction of Diane Clayton. Interment followed in Antioch Church Cemetery.
