Surviving victims of the earthquake in Haiti, which according to U.N. estimates killed more than 100,000, are in desperate need of many basic necessities, among them shoes and clothing.

Soles4Soles collects new and gently-used shoes, warehouses them and distributes them to needy people around the world. A few examples of relief efforts the organization has been involved with in the past are: the Southeast Asia tsunami victims, Hurricane Katrina victims, and the flood victims around Austell last year.

Now the organization is collecting shoes for the Haitian victims, and Foot Solutions shoe store on Hwy. 5 in Douglasville is helping by collecting shoes for Soles4Souls and sending them to their warehouse in Alabama for distribution.
