The rematch is set.

The Bremen and Gordon Lee high school wrestling teams, which met in the Area 1-A West Dual finals in Bowdon on Monday, will meet again tonight for the Class A State Duals title after both teams advanced out of the first two rounds on Friday in Macon.

Bremen, the reigning Class A champs, defeated Social Circle, 62-15, in the first round and Wesleyan, 34-24, in the semifinals to reach the championship match, while the Trojans dispatched of Holy Innocents’, 61-9, in the opening round and Commerce, 55-16 in the semifinals.

Bremen defeated Gordon Lee, 39-27, on Monday.

Bowdon dropped its opening match to Wesleyan on Friday, 54-15, and faces Social Circle in the consolation bracket.

In the other quarterfinal Class A match on Friday, Commerce defeated Turner County, 49-21.

Along with tonight’s championship match, the consolation bracket will feature the winner of Bowdon and Social Circle against Commerce and the Holy Innocents’-Turner County winner against Wesleyan for the opportunity to compete in the third-place match.

In the Blue Devils’ 10-point victory over Wesleyan, Bremen won nine of the 14 matches, however only Kannon Madden’s win at 135 pounds came via pin.

Also recording victories for Bremen against the Wolves were Zach Young (103 lbs.; dec. 5-0), Corey Morgan (112 lbs.; dec. 5-0), Trey Travis (130 lbs.; inj.), Alex Eriquezzo (140 lbs.; dec. 5-2), Dustin Brannom (152 lbs.; dec. 10-3), Slade Madden (160 lbs.; maj. 12-1), Travis King (189 lbs.; dec. 6-3) and Joe Bexley (285 lbs.; dec. 7-4).

In opening-round action, the Blue Devils won 11 of the 14 matches, including eight by pin.

Collecting wins for Bremen against Social Circle were Young (103 lbs.; pin), Morgan (112 lbs.; pin), Ryne Eriquezzo (125 lbs; pin), Travis (130 lbs.; TF 17-1), Kannon Madden (135 lbs.; pin), Alex Eriquezzo (140 lbs.; pin), Zac Bell (145 lbs; FF), Slade Madden (160 lbs.; pin), Sam Murphy (171 lbs.; pin), King (189 lbs.; dec. 6-2) and Bexley (285 lbs.; pin).

Picking up first-round victories for the Red Devils against Wesleyan were Bobby Juarez (103 lbs.; dec 4-0), Parker Moore (160 lbs.; dec. 6-2), Brandon King (189 lbs.; dec. 3-0) and Jason Stassie (285 lbs.; pin).
