Senior Trip

The Bremen Senior Center is taking reservations for their May senior trip to Niagara Falls. Contact Rayl at the Senior Center to reserve your spot today!

Baseball, soccer sign-ups

Baseball and soccer sign-ups will go through Feb. 12. at the Haralson County gym. T-Ball is $40 for 5 and 6 year olds, must be 5 by May 1, 2010. Baseball and softball for 7- and 8-year-olds, 9 and 10, 11 and 12 and 14 and 14 is $55. Soccer U6-U12 is $40.

Tax Assessors

The Haralson County Board of Tax Assessors will meet Jan. 12 at 8 a.m. at 4266 Ga. Hwy. 120, Buchanan. For information call 770-646-2022.

Pecan Sales

The pecans have arrived at Warren Sewell Library at Bremen. One pound bag of halves, large pieces, and medium pieces are available for $8 per bag. Come in and stock up for all you holiday baking needs. For info call 770-537-3937 or log onto www.bremenga.gov/library.

Art show

There will be a juried art show and sale Feb. 6-13 at the Sewell Mill Facility in Bremen.

Walk-n-Talk Book Club

The Buchanan-Haralson Public Library Walk-n-Talk Book Club continues at 5 p.m. Wednesdays. Get in shape while you discuss your most recent literary adventure.

Veterans of Haralson County

The West Ga. Museum of Tallapoosa would like a copy of your military photo with your name, year of service, branch of service and any other information you would like to share, to be displayed at the museum. You can drop your photo off at the museum or mail to the museum at P.O. Box 725, Tallapoosa, GA 30176. After we copy your photo your original can be picked up anytime at the museum. We will be accepting photos until May 1, 2010. (The sooner the better) Come visit and see what we have done.

Tallatoona Haralson

Tallatoona Haralson has funds available to assist with rent, mortgage or utility bills for households who have a separation notice due to lack of work and meets the income requirements. For more information, call 770-646-3845.

Senior Valentine’s Day Party

The Bremen Senior Center invites all seniors to join them in welcoming the White Family Singers at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at the Senior Center. The White Family is back by special request to delight audiences with their variety of musical talents.

W.H.E.S. Council Meeting

West Haralson Elementary School is having a School Council meeting at 6 p.m., Monday, Jan. 25, in the multipurpose room. All parents or guardians welcome.

Pecans and Peanuts

Delicious 2009 Georgia pecans and peanuts are available at the Buchanan-Haralson Public Library in Buchanan. Pecans sell for $7 per pound shelled and $5 cracked. Peanuts are $5 per lb. shelled and $4.50 in the shell. Proceeds benefit the library.

Georgia Council of the Blind

Members of the American Council of the Blind, will hold their monthly meeting on Saturday, Jan.9, at 11 a.m. We will be a Bethany Christian Church, Highway 61, Carrollton, and we welcome friends and family. Please call 770-562-1415 for information.

North Ga Regional Commission

Allen Poole, Chairman of the Coosa Valley / North Georgia Council of Chief Elected Officials, and Butch Jones, Chairman of the Workforce Investment Board, announce a meeting at noon, Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the Calhoun Convention Center, Calhoun, Ga. There will also be a meeting of the Youth Council at noon, Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the Calhoun Convention Center. There will be a meeting at 10:30 a.m. Wed. Jan. 13, for the Consortia at the Calhoun Convention Center. Also a meeting will be held for the Proposal Review Committee at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, at the Calhoun Convention Center.
