Mr. William Ollie “Bill” Townsend, 62, of Villa Rica died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.

Mr. Townsend was born Jan. 18, 1947, in Paulding County to Lawrence and Estella Townsend of the New Georgia Community. He enjoyed horses and spending time with his family and granddaughter Ella. He was in the parts sales business and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Judy Popham Townsend, and son and daughter in-law, Corey and Jamie Townsend, all of Villa Rica; mother, Estella Cochran Townsend of New Georgia Community, one grand-daughter Ella Townsend; sisters and brothers in-law, Jeanette and Johnny Norton of New Georgia and Lillian and Leon Norton of Dallas, brother and sister in-law Jimmy and Patti Townsend of Monticello, Fla. Several nieces, nephews and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Lawrence Townsend, and infant sister Nancy Townsend.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, Dec. 30, at 1 p.m. from J. Collins Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
