The Douglasville Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is going on TV to promote its Old Fashioned Holidays and Tour of Homes.

Donna Crawford, Erin Wynn, Dot Padgett and Suzanne Hudson will appear Tuesday on Atlanta & Company, according to Stephanie Aylworth, Main Street manager. The show airs on 11-Alive daily from 11 a.m. to noon.

Crawford is Design Committee chair and Wynn is Promotions Committee chair for DDA, which is holding both events. Suzanne Hudson’s Le Jardin Blanc and Dot Padgett’s home are on the Tour of Homes, Aylworth said.

Both events will be held December 5-6 on O’Neal Plaza, according to Kimberly Weaver, special projects manager for the Douglasville Convention & Visitors Bureau.

The Holiday Plaza Market kicks off the holiday events Saturday at 1 p.m. Activities will continue with the arrival of Santa at 4 p.m. and the lighting of the O’Neal Fountain Tree by Mayor Mickey Thompson at 6 p.m. According to Weaver, there will be children’s activities, food and entertainment.

The Tour of Homes through downtown Douglasville will begin at 6:30 p.m.

A free concert on the main stage of the plaza will also begin at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 5. The Jeff Pike Band and others will play a mix of Christmas music and their own sounds, Weaver said. Pike has performed with several artists, including Jimmy Buffett, Jerry Lee Lewis, Rick Springfield and Travis Tritt.

On Sunday, the Holiday Market and Tour of Homes will be held 1-4 p.m.

All plaza events are free and open to the public.

Tickets for the Tour of Homes are $10 each in advance and $12 each on the days of the Tour. Tickets may be purchased through the Downtown Douglasville Welcome Center/Broad Street Gifts.

The DDA is a nonprofit board that aids in the revitalization efforts of the city’s historic downtown district. Anyone who would like more information may contact the DDA at www.DowtownDouglasville.org.
