Boyd Fraser
Henry Boyd Fraser, 67, of Maple Valley Drive, Villa Rica, died Saturday, November 21, 2009, in Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton.
He was born in Carroll County on January 19, 1942, the son of Lillian Boyd Fraser and the late Henry Charles Joseph Fraser. He lived his entire life in the Villa Rica area and was a graduate of Villa Rica High School. He worked for Delta Airlines as a training instructor in the technical operations division and retired with 28 years of service. He then worked for a number of years at the Post Road Shoppette in Winston, but had been fully retired for several years. He was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica, attended the Fellowship Sunday school class, and was a member of the choir for many years. He was a member of the Villa Rica Masonic Lodge No. 72 F&AM and served as Worshipful Master, was a member of the Villa Rica Lions Club, Villa Rica Jaycees, served on the Villa Rica Industrial Board, the Selective Service Board, the Villa Rica Recreation Committee, and worked with the Carroll County Voter Registration Board. He was a very active and respected member of his hometown of Villa Rica.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Janice Conner Fraser of Villa Rica; two sons, Stephen Kyle Fraser and his wife, Dee, of Carrollton, and Samuel Keith Fraser and his wife, Mary, of Villa Rica; his mother, Lillian Fraser of Villa Rica; two sisters, Annette Lyons of Stone Mountain and Paulette Boyd of Marietta; and his “wonderful” grandchildren, Anna Kate Fraser and Joseph Conner Fraser of Carrollton, and Lindsay Morgan Fraser of Villa Rica; his mother-in-law, Sybil Burnett Conner of Canton; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Boyd will be conducted Monday, November 23, 2009, at 2 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica with the Rev. Jeff Jones and the Rev. Ben Pilgreen officiating. Music will be provided by Charles Cole and Hismark Group. Pallbearers will be Tony Chambers, Mac Hembree, Joe Willoughby, Phil Miller, David McLendon, Charles Cole, Raymond Hall and E.D. Ray. Members of the Fellowship Sunday school class will serve as an honorary group. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Villa Rica. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 1483 West Bankhead Highway, Villa Rica, GA 30180, or to the American Kidney Foundation.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, November 22, 2009, from 3-7 p.m.
