There will be cross country Saturday morning as Chapel Hill High School announced that the Mill Run will be held on the Boundary Waters course as scheduled. Race time is 8 a.m., starting with the boys junior varsity race followed by the girls junior varsity race. Third in line will be the boys varsity race, followed by the girls varsity run.

Three other races will complete the event.

Some 36 teams, including the No. 4 state-ranked Chapel Hill boys will be in the field. The CHHS boys are entering the event following a one-point victory over Walton in the University of Geogia race last weekend.

Wade Voyles of CHHS won the boys varsity race in 17:00.32, over 12 seconds faster than the runner-up.

The Lady Panthers finished fourth in their division at Georgia.

In other news from Chapel Hill, not even school being out due to the floods could stop the No. 2 Class AAAAA state-ranked Chapel Hill Lady Panthers softball team from taking the field.

Chapel Hill played at Morrow Thursday and will host Westlake today in a pair of Region 4-AAAAA contests. Today’s Westlake game is set for 5:30 p.m.

A date of Chapel Hill’s final region game against Lovejoy will be announced later.
