Douglas County Emergency Management will distribute bottled water on Thursday to residents of Douglas County who are without treated water continuing until water supplies are exhausted.

Two distribution centers will open at 9:00 a.m.:

-Douglasville First United Methodist Church, 6167 Prestley Mill Road at Hospital Drive - enter from Hospital Drive;

- and Prays Mill Baptist Church, 4979 Georgia Highway 5 at Banks Mill Road - enter from Banks Mill Road.

These will be "drive-through" centers, and cases of bottled water will be placed in the resident's car.

The bottled water distribution is in response to the widespread treated water outages in Douglas County. Numerous water line breaks and roadway washouts were caused by the rains and flooding of Sunday and Monday.

This distribution is open to Douglas County residents only.

A boiled water advisory is still in effect in Douglas County until further notice.
