The Douglasville-Douglas County Water and Sewer Authority (WSA) Tuesday approved the awarding of two stormwater improvement project bids totaling $236,241.
The action came at the regular 5:30 p.m. WSA board meeting in the WSA conference room, 8763 Hospital Drive, Douglasville.
Carr Contracting Company was the low bidder on the Timber Ridge Drive stormwater improvement project with a bid of $202,000. The low bidder on the Newman Ellis Road stormwater improvement project was Campbell Grading Company, Inc. with a bid of $34,241.
In other Tuesday WSA action, the board:
• adopted rules for the WSA program to pay up to $200 per household in rebates for customers who install water efficient toilets in houses constructed prior to 1994;
• awarded bid for preventive maintenance and servicing of WSA’s medium and heavy duty vehicles to Clinton Truck Repair, Inc. for $100,000;
• and approved change order to the Choate Construction Company contract to expand the Bear Creek water treatment plant to include an allowance of $2,215,000 for lining the south holding pond basin.
