Mixon reunion

Benefit Ride
Haralson County Sheriff Eddie Mixon invites the entire community to come out and support the 6th Annual Lamar Hunton Memorial Ride to benefit the Georgia Sheriff’s Association Youth Home. The 25th annual fall festival will be held Saturday, Sept. 12. Philpot reunion
The 183rd Annual Philpot Reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 20, at the Senior Citizens Center in Bremen. The program will begin at 11 a.m. with Dr. Craig Philpot sharing pictures and experiences of

4-H Fun Day
Haralson County will host a 4-H Fun Day on Oct. 24 the Callaway Livestock Pavilion in Buchanan. There will be a pancake breakfast, chicken swap, cake walk, 4-H chicken project show, chicken auction and the 1st Annual Tractor Ride and Show to benefit Haralson County 4-H youth participating in Project S.A.F.E. BB Team. It will be lots of fun as tractor drivers form a tractorcade and tour a 20 mile route through the county. Entry fee is $25 per driver. Food Distribution
Tallatoona Haralson HRDC will distribute food from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23, on a first come first serve basis, while quantities last at the End Time Warriors for Christ on Carrollton Street in Buchanan (go around back). Fall Fair on the Square
The Haralson County Historical Society/Downtown Buchanan Revitalization presents the annual “Fall Fair on the Square” Saturday, Sept. 19, in downtown Buchanan. There will be arts and crafts, food, children’s games and a parade at noon featuring the Haralson County High School Marching Band. The Friends of the Library (FOTL) will hold their annual BBQ lunch fundraiser. Tickets for the BBQ can be purchased at the Buchanan-Haralson Public Library or from any FOTL member. A Hunter Education Class is being offered from 6 - 10 p.m. on Sept. 8 and 10. You must attend both nights to be certified.
