Mrs. Mollie Inez Johnson, 77, of Villa Rica died Friday, May 22, 2009.
Mrs. Johns was born Dec. 21, 1931, in Milan, Tenn., the daughter of the late Mr. Fred Armstrong and the late Mrs. Elva Depriest Armstrong. She was a member of the church of Christ. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Arthur Johnson, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Rigsbee and Rose Hunter, both of Villa Rica; sons, Bryan Johnson Sr. and Marcus Johnson, both of Villa Rica; sisters, Bertie Roberts of Nashville, Tenn., and Ruth Armstrong of Grass Valley, Calif.; brother, Joe Armstrong of Nashville, Tenn.; three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Sunday, May 24, at 3 p.m. at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica with Minister Patrick Gray officiating. Graveside services will be Monday, May 25, at 1 p.m. CST from the Chessor Family Cemetery in Centerville, Tenn.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Villa Rica Sunday, May 24, from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour.

LOYD HICKS
Loyd Stafford Hicks, 67, of Hay’s Mill Road, Carrollton, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009. He was born December 16, 1941, in Columbus, Ga., the son of the late Herbert Allen Hicks Sr. and Hazel Stafford Hicks.
Mr. Hicks was retired from Quality Foods in Newnan and a member of Trinity Worship Center. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harry Bazemore; sisters, Carol Bazemore Reach and Diana Hicks.
Survivors include his sister, Lynn Hicks of Siler City, N.C.; brother, Herbert Allen Hicks, Jr., of Midland, Ga.; caregiver, Nell Cavender of Carrollton; also a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, May 23, 2009, at 11 a.m. from West Georgia Memorial Park with Rev. Dewey Digsby officiating.

D. W. “HUCK” HUCKEBA
January 7, 1922 to May 18, 2009
D. W. “Huck” Huckeba, 87, business owner and musician, died at Roswell Nursing Center on Monday, May 18, 2009, following complications from pneumonia.
He was born January 7, 1922, in the town of Whitesburg, Carroll County, to the late Albert Monroe and Lillie McRae Huckeba. He attended Lowell Elementary and Middle School and graduated from Roopville High School in 1940.
After working as a police officer in Fernandina, Fla., Huck served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He served in Europe for two years during World War II.
On October 20, 1945, Huck married his high school sweetheart, Melba Tuggle, daughter of Claude Briscoe and Georgia Taylor Tuggle.
Huck attended school at the Atlanta Division of the University of Georgia studying Accounting. He was a Graduate of Atlanta Law School, Class of 1950, and was admitted to practice in the same year.
Mr. Huckeba was a leader in the field of public housing in the Atlanta area. He enjoyed a career with the Atlanta Housing Authority from 1955 to 1981. He helped build and manage numerous public housing projects in the metro area and finished his career as the Assistant Executive Director and Director of Administration, Atlanta Housing Authority.
Huck began his second career as owner of Twin Creek Nursery.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife and family. He and Melba traveled all over the country and he loved those trips. He made new friends at every stop along the way.
Huck’s real lifelong passion was music. He began playing fiddle at his father’s knee at the age of 7. He played in many bands as a teen, and formed a band while in the Army. He rekindled his musical love in 1964 when he began taking drum lessons. Throughout the rest of his life, he delighted audiences all over the Atlanta area with his music.
His real musical love was his last band, “The Delites.” He and his band mates will be remembered by those they touched with their music as one of the great dance bands in the area.
Huck is survived by his wife, Melba; his daughter and her husband, Carol and Bill Walters; his son and his wife, David and Deborah J. Huckeba; five grandchildren and spouses, and six great-grandchildren.
The family celebrated Mr. Huckeba’s life at a private ceremony in Carrollton, Ga. on May 20, 2009, and he was entombed at Carroll Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a memorial contribution be made in Mr. Huckeba’s name to Kim Sims c/o Roswell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 1109 Green St., Roswell, GA 30075.
