The University of West Georgia women’s basketball team’s two first-team All-GSC East performers have earned further postseason honors this week.
Senior guard Dominic Cranford, the two-time reigning GSC East Player of the Year, and senior forward Ashley Huff were named honorable mention All-Americans on the 2009 State Farm Division II Coaches All-America team, as voted on by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
The honor adds to Cranford’s list of postseason recognition, as she earlier was named the Daktronics South Region Player of the Year.
Huff, who was a Daktronics All-South Second-Team member, had 19 double-doubles during the 2008-09 season, and she averaged more than 12 rebounds per contest in Gulf South Conference East play.
