The Central High School Athletic Booster Club will have its annual Top Cat Auction fundraising dinner on Thursday at The Mansion by S & R Catering on Maple Street. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and dinner will be at 6 p.m.

Central athletic director Mike Ledford said he expects to have about 200 items for auction through a combination of silent and live auctions.

“Hopefully lots of the Central faithful will come out and support the program,” Ledford said. “We know that these are difficult times for lots of people, and so we are doing our best to price the items in the most affordable way with a wide variety of opportunities to buy some things.”

Among the items for auction are a variety of Georgia and Georgia Tech memorabilia, as well as a Texas football helmet signed by coach Mack Brown and his defensive coordinator and designated successor, Will Muschamp. Ledford worked with Muschamp on the football staff at the University of West Georgia in 1998.

Also up for auction will be weekend vacation packages, 500 gallons of gas and golf packages.
