ROY DRIVER

Roy A. Driver, 83, of North Avenue, Carrollton died on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008.

Mr. Driver was born in Carroll County on Aug. 30, 1925, the son of the late Henry Arthur Driver and Eunice Morgan Driver.



He was a veteran of the U. S. Army during World War II, retired shop steward at Lockheed Martin Corporation, and member of North Point Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sister, Hazel D. Muse of Carrollton; brother and sister-in-law, Morgan and Denise Driver of Tallapoosa, sister in-law Clarice Cole of Carrollton, brothers in-law Dumah Adams of Douglasville, Dayton Adams of Jasper, Dwight Adams of Gainesville, Fla., and Idus Adams of Wilmore, Ky., and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Adams Driver; brother, Dumah Driver; and sister, Jean Crawford.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 20, at 2 p.m. from North Point Baptist Church with the Rev. Rodney Agan, Rev. Brian Kurtz and Minister Allen Howard officiating.

Pallbearers will be Tim Crawford, Ricky Cole, Sherron Muse, Steve Muse, Tommy Thompson, Glenn Kelley, George Lynch and Stanley Rowe. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Latimer, Stephen Latimer, Chris Latimer, Leonard Almond, Glenn Brown, Paul Terrell, Sidney Yates and employees of Walker Cadillac-Buick-Pontiac.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 5 p. m. until 8 p. m.

Memorial contributions may be made to North Point Baptist Church, Journey of Faith, 1400 Cedar St., Carrollton, Ga. 30117.

Interment will be in Carroll Memory Gardens.

CHARLIE STRICKLAND

Mr. Charlie Louis Strickland, 54, of Roopville, Ga., passed away Wednesday, December, 17, 2008. He was born July 31, 1954 in Augusta, Georgia, the son of the late Beatrice Leatha Bratcher Strickland and Claude William Strickland, Sr.

Mr. Strickland was a self employed brick mason and he loved and supported his family.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Nathaniel Naumann; and a sister, Brenda Letha Strickland-Duke.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Arrington Strickland; daughter, Cindy Strickland Stewart of Macon; step-father, Donnie Bonner of Douglasville; sister, Janice Dianne Strickland-Burns of Villa Rica; brothers, Claude William Strickland, Jr., of Gatlinburg and David Ray Bonner of Douglasville; three grandchildren, Jacob Cunningham, and Benjamin and Adam Stewart; also other relatives, Lewis C. Burns, Lee Burns, Janet Burns Jenkins, Jamie Burns-Robinson, Todd Duke, Tyson Duke, Tony Duke, Martina Pope, Michael Mesch and Tim Strickland.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 20, 2008, at 3 p.m. from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Rev. Gene Bonner officiating. Pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Griffis, Todd Duke, Tyson Duke, Tony Duke, Lee Burns, Lewis Burns, David Bonner and Harry Arrington. Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis A. Burns and Denney E. Burns. Interment will follow in Strickland-Duke family cemetery, Roopville, Ga.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 4 to 9 p.m.
