A Carroll County man died last weekend in a single-vehicle accident.

Jim Bill Davis of Bowdon died Saturday evening on Dashboard Road in southwest Carroll County. Sgt. Prince of the Georgia State Patrol said authorities were called to the scene at 7:25 p.m.

Prince said Davis was travelling west on Dashboard Road and apparently lost control of his 1987 Chevrolet pickup truck and crossed the left shoulder of the road, striking a tree. His truck then crossed back over the road and struck another tree on the north shoulder of the road before flipping over.

“It overturned and came to a final rest in the middle of the roadway,” Prince said.

The accident report did not mention suspected drug or alcohol use as possible causes for the accident. Davis was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
