One person was killed and two more were seriously injured in a car wreck Friday morning.

According to Carroll County Fire Rescue Capt. Tyler Shadix, the one-car crash happened around 8:30 a.m. on I-20 East, near the South Van Wert bridge.

“One patient was pronounced dead on arrival. Two of the patients were flown by air ambulance to Atlanta,” Shadix said.

The other two patients had been trapped in the vehicle and had to be extracted.

The Georgia State Patrol has not released the identity of the deceased.
