Carla Willis, left, and her daughter, Michelle, set up Halloween decorations in their yard at the corner of Longview and South Street on Thursday. Carla said every year, for the past 15 years, they add a new decoration to their display which she said takes about two weeks to complete. Willis said they started decorating on a small scale for Christmas and now try to have items out for every holiday, but she said Halloween and Christmas have the biggest displays. Police have to patrol four major intersections leading to the house on Halloween, Willis said, because she estimated about 550 kids stop at the house while trick-or-treating. The lit-up attractions double the cost of their electric bill and she said she has to rent two storage spaces for the Halloween and Christmas decorations.
