The Douglasville Bulls might be the hottest team in the Sunbelt League. After winning a play-in game against the Fulton Grizzlies, the Bulls have forced a third game against the division-winning Atlanta Crackers that was unavailable at presstime.

After Monday’s rain-delayed game 1, play resumed Tuesday at Norcross High School with the Bulls taking an 8-4 victory. In the second game, the Crackers and Bulls needed extra innings to decide their game.

With Douglasville ahead in the eighth inning, the Crackers showed why they’re favored by tying it in the top of the eighth inning and scoring four more runs in the top of the 11th to earn the victory. Blake Culberson had a strong starting performance for the Crackers and Greg Hendrix pitched four solid innings of relief to keep the Crackers’ playoff hopes alive.

The winner of the Bulls-Crackers series will face the Rockdale A’s in the Sunbelt League Championship, opening Friday.

The A’s took down the Berkley Lake Tides in two games by winning game one 4-1 and game two 13-3. The A’s are the SBL East Division winners after posting a league-best 22-5 record.

The winner of last night’s game at Norcross will move on to the Best 2-of-3 Championship Series against the Rockdale A’s. The opening game will take place Friday at Norcross High School with the second, and third if needed, being played at the new Gwinnett Stadium.
