A Carrollton man was killed Monday after the motorcycle he was driving struck a fence on Old Newnan Road.

Brandon Wilborn, 28, was pronounced dead after he was taken to Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton following the crash that occurred around 3:30 p.m. between the intersections of Highway 166 Bypass and Truitt Road, according to Georgia State Patrol Villa Rica Post Commander Joey Boatright.

Witnesses told investigators that Wilborn was driving a motorcycle traveling behind some friends in a car when he tried to pass the car in a no-passing zone around a curve. The motorcycle crashed into a fence after he swerved to avoid an on-coming car.
