The Trojans (6-3) wrapped up last week by defeating Class AAAAAA No. 3 Mountain View, 7-1 in eight innings, and recorded an 11-1 win against Heritage, Catoosa on Tuesday night.
The tough schedule continues, as Carrollton hosts Adairsville on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
In other prep baseball action from Wednesday:
Bremen 8, Haralson County 5: The Blue Devils (9-1-1) earned their seventh consecutive win behind the three-run decision over their county rivals, with Dylan Nappi collecting the victory on the hill.
The senior right-hander worked six innings, allowing five runs on six hits with seven walks and four strikeouts. Chase Trader tossed a scoreless seventh, allowing one hit with two strikeouts for the save.
Zach Creech (3-for-4, 2 2B, RBI), Jake Edison (2-for-3, RBI) and Trent McClure (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI) led the Blue Devil offense.
Lane Fortune (2-for-4) paced Haralson County offensively, while Justin Akins doubled, Trevor Porter had a hit and Dalton Smith was hit by a pitch three times.
The Rebels (3-4) open Region 4-AAA play on Friday at B.E.S.T. Academy at 5:30 p.m., while Bremen hosts Chattahoochee County on Friday evening at 5.
Carrollton Junior High 15, Villa Rica 4 (5 innings): The Trojans (7-0) got a strong, three-inning effort from Josh McLaughlin on the hill and a 2-for-3 effort from the pitcher at the plate, while Cole Sauls (2-for-3) and Mason Dodson (2-for-3) also had multiple-hit showings for Carrollton.
Bay Springs Middle School 10, Haralson County 1: Bryson Smith tossed the complete-game win for the Bobcats (3-2), with shortstop Garrett Kegley shoring up the defense behind some solid play.
Offensively, Dylan Humphries and Jarett Veitch had multiple-hit nights, with Humphries connecting on a home run and driving in four runs.
Central girls 5: Rockmart 0: The Lady Lions (7-2, 4-0 Region 4-AAA) stayed perfect in region play, sweeping in singles behind No. 1 Sydney Stone (6-0, 6-1), No. 2 Emily Startup (6-0, 6-2) and No. 3 Denney Meigs (6-3, 6-0), while the pairings of No. 1 Emily Bush/Lauren Bush (7-6, 6-4) and No. 2 Mary Kate Sailors/Elizabeth Minick (6-0, 6-3) also won in two sets.
Rockmart boys 4, Central 1: The Lions (7-2, 3-1) suffered their first region setback, with Jarrett Thomas/Andrew Toney recording the team’s lone win at No. 1 doubles (6-2, 6-0).
In a battle of top two teams in their respective classes, the AAAA No. 1 Carrollton High School boys soccer team fell to Class AA No. 2 Westminster, 2-0, on Wednesday night at home.
The Trojans (5-3-1) allowed a goal early in the first half off a corner kick and then allowed a second half goal to Westminster (5-1) in the loss.
Carrollton returns to Region 5-AAAA play, where it is 2-0, on Tuesday when LaGrange comes to Grisham Stadium for an 8 p.m. battle.
The Lady Trojans recorded their second meet win in as many weeks, as they traveled back from Westminster on Wednesday night with the team title in the four-team meet.
Carrollton’s 106.2 was 4.1 points better than Lambert in second and beat out third-place Westminster (100.6) and Alpharetta (52.3).
Andavea Alexander took the All-Around title, while Jennifer Brandenburg finished third in the All-Around. Kyndel Yett, Taylor Griffin and Katie Beth Carter also contributed to the team effort.
Up next will be a two-team meet on Tuesday when Carrollton travels to Pace Academy.
