Volunteers plant four varieties of grapes Saturday at the new Trillium Vineyard belonging to Bruce and Karen Cross in Bremen. The workers met the Crosses through the Vineyard and Winery Association of West Georgia and through the Crosses work with Alpacas in their venture Wake Robin Alpacas. The Crosses planted a 2-acre vineyard with 1,200 vines. The first full production of grapes will be in three years with a smaller yield the year before. The Crosses join about dozen other vineyards that grow over an acre of grapes in the west Georgia area, with many more growing smaller plots.
