Lithia Springs hosted Paulding County Friday night. The Lady Lions, playing with a lot of first year players, lost 10-0 after playing the 40 minute first half.

The Lithia girls were playing their first game of the season and for a lot of their players, it was their first game ever.

“It was a great experience for them to see how the game of soccer works,” said LSHS coach Tiffany Johnson. “We did a lot of positive things right and did a few things wrong. They worked through the cold weather and did a good job.”

Johnson was happy with the play of her captains Lyric Miller and Brianna Ricks.

“They pulled the team together and kept them focused,” said said.

BOYS

The Lithia boys won 6-0 and while happy with the win, coach Patrick Krouba is expecting more out of his team.

“I think they should have been more physical,” he said. “We dominated the second half of the game and scored a couple of easy goals.”

Fernando led the Lions with three goals.
