Known as “The Door Man” of West Georgia, Jack co-owned West Gate & Door Inc., making him a member of the local business community for over 40 years.
Surviving this beloved husband, father, and friend are his wife of 26 years, Debra Calhoun Caswell; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Eddie and LeAnne Caswell Preston, Meri Caswell Whitlock, John and Christina Caswell McCurdy; 11 grandchildren, Allyson Preston, Devin and Crystal Preston Wilcox, Vicky Preston, Sam Preston, Jacky Preston, Beau Preston, Morgan Whitlock, Cason Whitlock, Kaylie McCurdy and Jack McCurdy; and one great-grandchild, Dextyn John Wilcox. Also survived by his much-loved Yorkie, Honey. In addition to this immediate family is a large extended family to which he will always be a cherished friend and mentor.
Jack was a devoted member of West Georgia Worship Center, located in Buchanan, Georgia. Ricky Shirley will conduct Jack’s Celebration of Life and Homegoing at Martin & Hightower in Carrollton, Georgia, on Friday, February 22, at 2 p.m. Jason Adams, Jack’s cousin, and Eddie Preston, Jack’s son-in-law will be sharing memories from Jack’s life. There will be special music led by Ashton Shirley and Daniel Addison.
Visitors are welcome on Thursday, February 21, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Please feel free to contribute a favorite photo to a memorial collage.
