Mr. Robert “Bob” William Miller, 85, of Cairo, Ga., formerly of Tallapoosa, Ga., passed away February 12, 2013. Mr. Miller was born April 2, 1927, in Tallapoosa to the late R. J. and Mable McKissick Miller.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruth Miller Williams and Elizabeth Miller Marcinko; and brother, Hubert Miller.

Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Army in Germany. He graduated with the Tallapoosa High School class of 1944. He followed in his father’s footsteps and opened and owned Miller Funeral Home in Cairo.

Survivors include his wife, Jessie Miller of Cairo; son, Bill Miller of Bremen, Ga.; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 15, 2013, at 10 a.m. from Tabernacle Baptist Church, 3224 U.S. 84, Cairo, GA 39828.

His family will receive friends Thursday evening at Whiddon Shiver Funeral Home, 10451 U.S. 84, Thomasville, Ga., between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m.

Interment will follow on Friday, February 15, at 4 p.m. in Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. Wales Goebel officiating and the Haralson County Veterans Association providing military honors. Gentleman serving as pallbearers will be Jack Nixon, Bill Miller, John Marcinko and Keith Miller.

Family and friends will gather at Miller Funeral Home in Tallapoosa at 3:30 p.m.
