CHHS trailed 15-7 after the first quarter but an 18-6 second quarter put the game at 25-21 Chapel Hill. The Lady Panthers outscored Central 15-10 in the third quarter and were outscored 21-15 in the fourth but managed to hang on for the victory.
Kaniesha Mixon led Chapel Hill with 20 points. Earnicia Washington had 19 points and six steals. Erica Jones added 16 points and seven rebounds.
Brianna Cousin led Central-Carroll with 15 points.
“It was a great win and the girls stepped up,” said CHHS coach Scott Long. “We faced some adversary early on and showed great determination and fire.”

The Panthers and Lady Panthers will be back in action on Tuesday when they girls host Coretta Scott King and the boys host BEST Academy. Games start at 6 p.m.
