The four-year Wolf moved around on the offensive line during his career playing both the tackle and guard positions early on before becoming the team's center this past season.
The honorable mention nod to the All-American squad goes along with being a first team member of the All-Gulf South Conference Team and a second team member of the Don Hansen All-Super Region II Team.
Ritchey becomes the 23rd All-American at UWG and the first offensive lineman honored since Abed Taha was a two-time selection for the 1999 and 2000 seasons.
Hester garners preseason nod
With the baseball season just around the corner West Georgia's Evan Hester was named to the 2013 All-GSC Preseason team.
Hester was an all-conference performer last season with a .335 average, leading the team in doubles and RBI with 14 and 40, respectively. The senior started last season in left field before injuries to the team forced him to move behind the plate as the team's catcher. Hester started every game for the Wolves last season.
Along with Hester, third baseman T.J. Eifiert, outfielder Shaquille Jackson and pitcher Jonathan Black were all named as top conference newcomers.
The season begins for UWG on Saturday as the Wolves host Miles in a doubleheader before the three game series wraps up with a single game on Sunday. The Wolves are picked to finish sixth in the conference this season while Delta State was picked to win the GSC again this year.
All-Academic Wolves
When the GSC released it's All-Academic teams for the fall sports 10 UWG athletes were honored.
Four football players were honored as Kyle Bowman, Adam Strakose, Mark Bardenwerper and Alex Macaulay met the requirements set by the GSC. Also, freshmen and first semester transfers are not eligible.

The Wolves also placed a school record 55 athletes on the 2012 Gulf South Fall Academic Honor Roll which requires a 3.0 GPA.
