Bowdon girls bounce Randolph

In the final tuneup before region play, the Bowdon High School girls' basketball team broke a four-game losing streak in a big win against Randolph County (Ala.), 54-25, on Friday night.

The Red Devilettes (7-5) were led by Sydney Boddie's nine-point night, while Allie Phillips scored eight and Jacole Stephens added seven points in the victory.

The Red Devilettes will host Heard County today at 6 p.m.

Gordon Lee boys 68, Mt. Zion 48:
A 14-point effort from Corey Loftin wasn't enough, as the Eagles (8-6, 2-1) dropped a 20-point Region 6A-A contest to Gordon Lee at home.

Mt. Zion will take a break from the region slate today, as it travel to Ranburne (Ala.) for a 4:30 p.m. tip.
