Mrs. Charlotte Eckles Hinesley, age 85, of Haralson County, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. She was born May 9, 1927, in Haralson County to the late Frank and Ethel Eckles.

Charlotte was a loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Hinesley graduated from West Georgia College with a Master’s degree in education. She taught school for 30 years in the Carrollton Public School System and was named Teacher of the Year at College Street School. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Carrollton and later First Baptist Church in Tallapoosa and was a teacher for the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was past president of the Tanner Medical Auxiliary, past president of the Tallapoosa Garden Club, a member of the Haralson County Master Gardeners, a member of the Andrew Jackson McBride United Daughters of the Confederacy, Circle of Friends, Carrollton, Georgia, and was an Amateur Ham Operator.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Delton Hinesley, and a sister, Sara Moore.

Survivors include her daughter, Frances Hinesley Cox and son-in-law, Ben Cox Sr. of Marietta, Georgia; grandsons, Benjamin Cox Jr. of Huntersville, North Carolina, Christopher Cox of Powder Springs, Georgia; great-grandchildren: Peyton Cox, Preston Cox of Huntersville, North Carolina, Benjamin Cox VI and Mary Elizabeth Cox of Powder Springs, Georgia; sister, Claire Williams of Waco, Georgia; sister-in-law, Tommie Byrd of Birmingham, Alabama; and eight nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. from Tabernacle Baptist Church in Carrollton with Dr. J. Howard Cobble and Rev. Jason Hatchett officiating. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens, Carrollton, Georgia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, January 12, 2013, from 1 to 4 p.m.
