The Carrollton woman charged with murder on Friday after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend was denied bond during her first appearance hearing on Saturday.

MoQuita Green, 25, allegedly used a "regular kitchen steak knife" to kill her boyfriend after an argument "got out of hand," Capt. Chris Dobbs with Carrollton Police Department said.

The Carrollton male victim, 24-year-old Angel Asenjo Jr., was found with several stab wounds in his chest, Dobbs said.

Green called 911 and told the dispatcher that she had stabbed her boyfriend shortly after 7 a.m. Friday morning after a verbal argument became physical, police said. Asenjo was found to not have any weapons on him when police arrived.

The incident took place at Magnolia Lake apartments on Burns Road in Carrollton.

Asenjo, whose father lives in Carrollton and whose mother lives in Katy, Texas, was taken to Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are still investigating the couple's history to see if there was any past violence between the two.

Green faces a charge of murder and was denied bond by a judge during her first appearance hearing at the Carroll County Jail Saturday morning.

“We are still investigating what happened and how this person died,” Dobbs said.

Green was employed at the Carrollton Walmart in the loss prevention department, Dobbs said.

The visitation for Asenjo will be held at Almon Funeral Home in Carrollton today from 6 to 8 p.m., with burial to be in Katy, Texas, where his mother lives. The victim was employed by Walmart.com.

In other crime news, a Carrollton man walked out of his apartment Monday morning to find his car gone.

The car is believed to have been stolen, Inv. Meredith Browning with CPD said.

The 25-year-old man last saw his car at 7 p.m. Sunday evening. When he walked outside early Monday morning, his 1987 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was no longer in the parking lot.

The car is black in color, Browning said.

The police have no suspects in the case.
