“Overall as a team we wrestled well,” said NMHS coach Raymond Leonard. “But injuries left some spots open in the lineup and we have some kids that are learning the sport of wrestling that are going up against kids that have been doing this all their lives.”
Despite the loss, the Jaguars did managed to good individual performances, most notably Levon Wiggins, who was able to score a quick, 30 second pin, on his East Paulding opponent in the 106-pound weight class.
“It was a solid performance by Levon,” Raymond said.
Lithia Springs was also scheduled to participate in the event but did not compete.
New Manchester will be back in action on Dec. 29 when they head to the Alexander Invitational.
