Mrs. Smith was born in Munsbach, Luxembourg, on December 27, 1922, one of nine children to the late Joseph Kasel and Catherine Meull Kasel.
She married James E. Smith Jr. in 1948 and they had five children whom she is survived by: John Smith of Atlanta, Shirley Back of Carrollton, Richard Smith of Lawrenceville, George Smith of Acworth, Julie Henderson of Loganville; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and will be missed by her family.
A memorial mass service will be held Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 11:00 at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Atlanta.
