Jimmy Franklin Barber of Temple passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012. He was born in Polk County on February 21, 1938, son of the late Lonnie Elmar Barber and Savannah Knight Barber.

Mr. Barber was a retired employee of Tom’s Potato Chip Company and a U.S. Army veteran.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Lepard Barber; sisters, Ruth, Edna and Mildred Barber, Marjean Green; and brothers, Robert and David Barber.

Survivors include his children, Chris (Amanda) Barber of Rome, Melissa Vines of Temple; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters, Alice Syman of St. Augustine, Fla., Elma Jo (Kenneth) Rogers of Smyrna, and Fay (Walker) Goolsby of Villa Rica; brother, Bud (Noble) Barber of Rockmart; and special friend, Emily Mashburn of Lowell.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Services will be Friday, December 7, 2012, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Hightower Funeral Home in Bremen with Rev. Shae Tallent and Rev. Larry Rogers officiating. Pallbearers will be Tony Long, Tony Waites, Kevin McClure, Brian Buchanan, Jason Goolsby, Steve Proctor and Jeff Tallent. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
