Vassie Meadows Lord, 92, of Austell and Carrollton, died Oct. 17, 2012. She was the youngest daughter of the late Mary and Carl Meadows of Monroe.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Robert Stuart Lord.

A retired employee of SunTrust Bank in Bowdon, Ga., she is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Rhodes (Jim) of Marietta; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Lord (Brenda) of Huntersville, N.C., and Jim Lord (Melinda) of Forsyth; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18 with graveside services on Friday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. John Crooks officiating.
