Bowls freshly created by University of West Georgia students and staff wait to dry before being fired and then glazed Tuesday at the University of West Georgia library. Many students turned out to help create bowls that will be dried, fired and glazed before the Empty Bowls fund raiser in February to benefit the Carroll County Soup Kitchen. The bowls will be used to serve soup at the event where the bowls can be purchased for a minimum donation of $10. The last Empty Bowls event raised over 23,000 for the soup kitchen, which serves more than 1,000 meals a month. (Photo by Cliff Williams/Times-Georgian)
