Mrs. Georgia Mae Lowery of Bowdon, Georgia, passed away on October 12, 2012. She was 87.

Mrs. Lowery was born in the Hightower community of Cleburne County, Alabama, on December 9, 1924, to the late Jessie and Mariah Whitley Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of Gold Ridge Baptist Church. She will be remembered by her family as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lowery was preceded in death by her husband, Seabron Lowery; her sisters, Veralene Turner, Rachel Runyan, Boyce Hendrix, and an infant sister, Margie Rea Williams; and her brother, Luna “Toy” Williams.

Survivors include her children, Dale Lowery, and his wife, Kathy, Denise Lowery, and Delane Lowery, all of Bowdon; her grandson, Brandon Lowery of Villa Rica, Georgia; her brother, Herman Williams of Cumming, Ga.; her sisters, Ora Belle Robinson of Bowdon, Ga., Shirley Baker of Carrollton, Ga., and Charlotte Runyan of Graham, Ala.; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2012, at 3 p.m. (Georgia time) at Gold Ridge Baptist Church in Ranburne, Alabama. Rev. T.J. Morgan will officiate. Music will be provided by the church choir. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Prior to the funeral services, Mrs. Lowery’s body will be placed at the church from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, October 13, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. (Georgia time).
