In the first region and road win since 2009, the Mt. Zion High School football team got it done in style, as seven different Eagles scored in the 55-0 win at Southwest Atlanta Christian on Friday night.

The Eagles (2-3, 1-1 Region 6A-A) picked up their first win in more than two years earlier in the season and got their first region victory, picking up 458 yards offensively.

Nathan Bernhardt led the offense with a pair of touchdowns, but Matt Turner, T.J. Garrett, T.K. Tuggle, Tristen Puckett, Fernando Valles and Darious Allison all scored rushing touchdowns for MZ, as well.

The first region win is something the Eagle coaching staff hopes the team can build on moving forward.

"Obviously, we want to win every week. It was a game that we dominated from the beginning to the end. We haven't had too many of those. It was good for the kids to have that to get some confidence," MZ coach Keith Holloway said.
