Mr. Lindsey Alton Stephens, age 70 of Franklin, Georgia, passed away at the Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia, on Wednesday, September 26, 2012.

Funeral services for Mr. Stephens were conducted on Friday, September 28, 2012, at 2 p.m. from the Tom Stutts and Son Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Mark Williams officiating. The interment followed in the Centralhatchee First Baptist Church in Franklin, Georgia. Those serving as pallbearers were Bobby Arnall, Mike Harris, Danny Davis, Barry Lee, Billy Case, and Joshua Davis. Honorary pallbearers were Kenneth Hatcher, Jr., Ross Stephens, and Gary Hatcher.

Mr. Stephens was born in Heflin, Alabama, on January 1, 1942, the son of the late Adeline White Stephens Powers and Russell Junior Stephens. He was raised by his beloved grandmother, Minnie Stephens. He was a Baptist By faith, and worked as a welder in the automotive industry. He was a member of the Golden City Cruisers car club, in Villa Rica, Georgia. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Stephens; three daughters, Teresa Stephens Shelnutt, Kristie Stephens, and Cheryl Stephens; two sons, Michael Stephens and Kevin Stephens, all of Franklin, Georgia; one sister, Mary Hobgood (Tom) of Loganville, Georgia; former daughter-in-law, Tammy Stephens of Franklin, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
