He was born in Villa Rica on Feb. 25, 1932, the son of the late Walter Thomas Sudduth Sr. and the late Omie Ophelia Hunter Sudduth.
He lived his entire life in the Carroll and Douglas County area and retired from the Lakewood Christian Manor, where he worked for many years in the maintenance division. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church and the Joyful Workers Sunday School Class, and was a former Elder in the Villa Rica Christian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Genelle Pate Sudduth of Villa Rica; his children, Steve Sudduth; and his wife, Priscilla, of Farifield Plantation/Villa Rica, Richard Sudduth and his wife, Gail, of Villa Rica and Debbie Sudduth Bailey and her husband, Richard, of Carrollton; one sister, Ruth Washington and her husband, Ralph, of Villa Rica; a brother, Walter “Junior” Sudduth, of Villa Rica; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the chapel of the J. Hoyt Thomas Funeral Home with Minister Billy Kaylor and Minister Tony Boyd officiating. Music will be provided by the Bethany Quartet. Pallbearers will be Steve Sudduth, Richard Sudduth, Richard Bailey, Bryan Sudduth, Jacob Sudduth, John Bailey and Mike Washington. The Elders of Bethany Christian Church will serve as an honorary group. Interment will follow in Meadowbrook Memory Gardens, Villa Rica.
