Ruby Agan

Ruby Jewell Posey Agan, 79, of Bremen, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, in a local hopsital.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23, at Hightower’s Funeral Home in Bremen with the Rev. Richard Brannon officiating. Burial followed in Union Hill Church cemetery.

Brenda Chandler

Brenda Elaine Chandler, 56, of Heflin, Ala., died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Emory University Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Jerry Irwin and Don Maddox officiating. Burial followed in Hollywood Cemetery at Tallapoosa.

Survivors include her husband, Jason Chandler of Heflin, Ala.; daughter, Holly Richardson of Heflin, Ala.; sister, Jennifer Miller of Tallapoosa; and brother, Randy Brooks of Tallapoosa, Ga.

Pallbearers were Skipper Bailey, Billy Bridges, Joey Entrekin, Andy McLendon, David Patterson and Jason Blackmon.

Mrs. Chandler was a native of Haralson County, Ga., and was employed by West Georgia Golf Company. She was a loving mother, wife, sister and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna and Willard Brooks, and a husband, David Charles “Termite” Richardson.

Julius Ellis

Julius Eugene Ellis, 85, of Tallapoosa died Sept. 14, 2012.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 17, at Antioch Baptist Church with Brother Clyde Blount and the Rev. Tommy McGuire officiating. Burial followed in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with the Haralson County Veterans Association providing full military honors.

Joan LaNelle Hart, 68, of 300 Hart Rd., Tallapoosa died Sept. 16, 2012.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sept. 19, at Providence Baptist Church with Dr. Mason Bush and the Rev. Ricky Shirley officiating. Burial followed in Providence Church Cemetery with the Rev. Alton Stamey officiating.

Crystal Mae Herod, 24, of Bremen died Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, at her residence.

Nettie Hogan

Nettie Lee Sanders Hogan, 88, of Barnes Road, Bowdon died Sept. 23, 2012.

Mrs. Hogan was born on Aug. 4, 1924, in Haralson County, Ga., the daughter of the late Jessie Sanders and Mattie Lou Hobbs Sanders.

She was a former employee of Rich’s and a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Butler Hogan; brothers, Clifford, Lovie, Jack, Grady, Bill and Pink Sanders; sisters Sally Miller, Cora Blackmon and Bernice Agan.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Linda Joyce and Robert Langley of Buchanan; son and daughter-in-law, Larry Wayne and Glynn Hogan of Bowdon; brothers, James Robert “Bob” Sanders of Winston and Burl and Era Sanders of Bremen; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at the graveside at the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Aaron Johnson officiating.

Floyd D. Hutson, 72, of 2611 Steadman Rd., Tallapoosa, died Sept. 19, 2012.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Sept. 21 at Miller Funeral Home with Dr. Mason Bush and the Rev. Randy Robinson officiating. Burial followed in Steadman Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mildred Smith McGraw, 82, of Temple, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, in a local health facility.

Clarence James Miller

Clarence James Miller, 82, of Buchanan died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012, in Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton, following an extended illness.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, at J. Hoyt Thomas Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Golden officiating. Burial followed in the Brannon Perryman Cemetery in Haralson County.

Geneva Newman

Francis Geneva Newman, 86, of 106 Highway 120, Tallapoosa, Ga., died Sept. 17, 2012. Mrs. Newman was born Aug. 12, 1926, in Tallapoosa to the late Robert and Docie Chandler Williams.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Newman, and brother, Melvin Williams.

Mrs. Newman was a seamstress and supervisor for 43 years at the Hubbard Company. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and an avid gardener – she loved her flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her sisters, Clara Nell Chandler of Bremen; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and June Williams of Tallapoosa; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, at Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Bryan officiating. Music will be provided by Harold McWhorter. Pallbearers were Bobby Layton, Lenn Chandler, Larry Chandler, James Newman, Richard, Williams, Mike Argo and James Hughes.

Burial followed in Poplar Springs Baptist Church cemetery.

James Noel Little

Mr. James Noel Little died Sept. 14, 2012. Noel was born in Tallapoosa, Ga., on June 14, 1934. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Thomas Little and Dicie Jordan Little Vaughn.

He was a 1952 graduate of Tallapoosa High School. Noel was a U.S. Army Veteran and attended college on the G.I. Bill. He was a civilian employee of Robins Air Force Base, Ga., for over 36 years. At the time of his retirement, he worked in the C-141 System Program Management office as a logistics manager. He went on to work several years for Support System Associates (SSAI) as a Senior Logistian.

He enjoyed his annual fishing trips with his Warner Robins buddies. He taught all his grandchildren how to fish and enjoyed their fishing trips to Lake Sinclair.

He spent most of his adult life in Warner Robins, where he and his family attended Second Baptist Church. He was an active member of The First Baptist Church of Buchanan, Ga., where he served on the welcoming committee and served as a door greeter. He also served as Sunday School Director.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jeanette Robinson Little of Bremen; his son, Michael Little of Bremen; daughter-in-law, Jan Little of Rome; his daughter, Shelia Little Capebianco and Joseph of Lakeland, Tenn.; his sisters, Carolyn and Max Carroll of Buchanan and Janice and Rolfe Jackson of Tallapoosa, Ga.; his sisters-in-law, Hazel and T.J. Bell, Clohie and Preston Smith, and Catherine Robinson of Auburn, Ala.; his brothers-in-law, Junior and Billie Robinson, Wayne and Jackie Robinson and Curtis Hulsey, all of Bremen, Bobby and Elaine Robinson of Douglasville; grandsons, Justin, Ryan and Christopher Capebianco of Lakeland, Tenn.; granddaughters, Nicole and Rachel Little of Rome and Kristen Little of Savannah, Ga.

Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, at The First Baptist Church of Buchanan. Dr. Allen Wilburn and the Rev. Joseph Capebianco had charge of the service. Prayer at Hightower Funeral Home with family, Brother Herman Parker, and prayer at the graveside, Reverend Van Brown. The following gentlemen served as pallbearers: Keith Robinson, Eric Robinson, Mark Robinson, Robert Robinson, Joel Bagby, Brandon Cash, Rodney Robinson and Mitchell Robinson. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Evans and Bob Pless of Warner Robins, Ga., Henry Jack Wahl of Chanucey, Ga., C.W. Hart, Duel Bowling, Alfred Wright and Ray Moore of Tallapoosa, Ga.

Interment followed in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
