The Holy Ground Baptist Academy football team improved to 3-0 on the season with its 21-0 victory over Peoples Baptist Academy last week, as the Stallion defense held the Knights to under 100 yards of total offense.

The HG offense, meanwhile, racked up 300 total yards, getting the scoring started on a 33-yard touchdown run by Michael Yates with 6:31 left in the opening quarter.

After forcing a Knight fumble on a strong hit by Yates, the Stallions used a two-yard quarterback sneak from Demo Agan for the 12-0 lead. Agan connected with Walt Denney on the two-point conversion pass to push the score to 14-0 at the half.

After a scoreless third quarter, the Stallions tacked on another touchdown in the fourth after Deangelo Agan darted into the end zone from 11 yards out for the final tally of the night.

Yates led the HG defense with two interceptions and a fumble recovery, while Deangelo Agan rushed for a team-best 93 yards.

The Stallions will play host to Westside Christian tonight at 7:30 p.m.

As part of tonight’s events, Holy Ground is holding “Jessica Lee Day” to help support an 11-year-old girl at the school that has been fighting Leukemia for seven months. The school asks that everyone wears orange in support of Lee and Leukemia research.
